Who this is for

This page is for process servers, process-serving agencies and legal support companies that work through batches of service requests from law firms and need a way to reach the people named in them. If you have names and addresses but need a phone number or email to confirm details, that is the gap bulk skip tracing fills.

The lists process servers bring

  • Batches of service requests. A law firm sends a list of people and addresses. Upload the name and address columns and get contacts back for the same rows, so you can call or email to confirm details.
  • Witness and subpoena lists. Lists of witnesses or records custodians where the address on file is old. Re-run the name and address to look for a current phone or email.
  • Returned or unsuccessful attempts. Requests where the address on file did not work out. Re-run the name and address and see whether a phone or email comes back.

How it works

  1. Export your list as a CSV. One row per person, with an owner name and a complete address (street, city, state and ZIP). 50 to 100,000 rows per order. Your column names can be anything; you point each one at the right field during upload.
  2. Upload it and see the price. The total is shown before you pay. Skipmatch charges $0.03 a record, and you pay only for records that come back with a phone or email. Minimum charge $0.50 when any record matches.
  3. Download your list with contacts added. You get your own file back with up to 10 phones per person (each labeled mobile, landline or VoIP), up to three emails, and a HIT or MISS flag on every row.

See the columns in a real result on the sample file, or work out a total on the cost calculator.

Permitted use and compliance

Skipmatch is for a lawful business purpose you can state for every record, such as locating a party or witness for service of process or legal notice, or contacting a person to confirm details or arrange delivery of documents in a way the court's rules allow. The permissible-use terms do not allow using the data to stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or to locate a person in order to cause them harm, including anyone protected by a restraining or protective order. It is not a consumer report and may not be used for any purpose the Fair Credit Reporting Act covers.

Who may serve papers and how is set by each state and court, and that is yours to follow. Depending on the work, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Driver's Privacy Protection Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and do-not-call rules, and state law may also apply to you. Skipmatch does not scrub numbers against do-not-call lists and a number in the file is not consent to contact anyone. Every account accepts the permissible-use terms before its first order. This is general information, not legal advice.

Questions

Can I skip trace a batch of service requests?

Yes. Upload a name and an address for each person on the batch. Each row that has a match comes back with phones and emails, and on some rows additional associated addresses; rows with nothing found are flagged MISS.

Can I use Skipmatch to find someone I need to serve?

Yes. Locating a party or witness for service of process or legal notice is a permitted use, as long as you can state the lawful purpose for each record. The permissible-use terms do not allow using the data to stalk, harass or harm anyone, or to find anyone protected by a restraining or protective order in order to get around it. Who may serve papers, and how, is set by each state and court.

What does it cost?

Skipmatch charges $0.03 a record, billed only for matched records, with no subscription or monthly seat. The total is shown before you pay. Minimum charge $0.50 when any record matches.

What do I need to upload?

A CSV with an owner name and one complete address (street, city, state and ZIP) on each row. Orders run from 50 to 100,000 rows. Your own column names are fine; you map them during upload.

Can I call everyone on the list?

Not automatically. Check the do-not-call rules that apply to you before you call or text, and scrub the list yourself because Skipmatch does not. This is general information, not legal advice.
