Short answer
As of Sept 2026, the difference is what each one counts. On PropStream the unit is the contact you trace, and the plan decides whether it costs extra: free on Essentials only with the Connect add-on (from $30 a month), and 10¢ per additional contact on Pro and Elite. On BatchLeads the unit is the lead you save; the plan's monthly lead count already carries the phones and emails, and each lead or export past it is 4¢.
On those published terms, PropStream Essentials with per-contact tracing comes to less than BatchLeads Growth only up to 166 contacts a month. At 1,000 contacts it comes to $219.00, against $119.00 on BatchLeads Growth. At 10,000 contacts it comes to $1,299.00, against $119.00 on BatchLeads Growth. That reads one BatchLeads lead per record traced, which is our reading, not a figure BatchLeads prints. PropStream's Connect add-on and Pro plan appear in the cost table below as starting prices.

PropStream's published terms
PropStream states its skip tracing rule on two pages, in two different wordings. Both were read on , and each is quoted with its own page.
- Its skip tracing page (propstream.com/skip-tracing (opens in a new tab)) says skip tracing is "free with the Pro or Elite plan, or when you add Lead Automator to your Essentials plan", and otherwise "$0.12 per contact" on Essentials.
- Its pricing page (propstream.com/pricing (opens in a new tab)) says: Plans at $99, $199 and $699 a month ($81, $165 and $583 a month billed annually). Skip tracing is 12¢ per contact on Essentials, free through PropStream Connect (an add-on from $30 a month on Essentials, included on Pro and Elite); additional skip tracing on Pro and Elite is 10¢ per contact.
The two pages name the Essentials add-on differently (Lead Automator on one, PropStream Connect on the other), so check the pricing page for which add-on applies to your account. Either way the plain rule is the same: 12¢ per contact on Essentials ($99 a month) unless you pay for the add-on, included on Pro ($199 a month) and Elite ($699 a month), and 10¢ per additional contact there. Billed annually, the three plans are $81, $165 and $583 a month. At its starting price, the add-on costs the same as 250 contacts at 12¢; the terms we recorded do not say how many contacts that starting price covers, so check the pricing page before counting on it.
BatchLeads' published terms
BatchLeads publishes its current plans on its pricing page and an older per-record price in its help center. Both were read on .
- Its pricing page (batchleads.io/pricing (opens in a new tab)) says: Growth $119, Professional $349 and Scale $749 a month (40% less on an annual commitment) with 10,000, 35,000 or 75,000 leads a month; saved leads are enriched with phones and emails as part of the plan. Extra leads and exports 4¢ each. 7-day free trial.
- Its help center (help.getbatch.co: skip tracing pricing (opens in a new tab), an article dated ) says "Skip tracing is now only necessary in Legacy Plans" and, for those plans, "Pricing starts at $0.07 per skiptrace record once your monthly skip trace credits have been used".
So on a current plan there is no separate skip tracing price: contacts come with the leads you save, up to 10,000 a month on Growth ($119), 35,000 a month on Professional ($349) and 75,000 a month on Scale ($749), and each lead or export past that is 4¢. The $0.07 per record applies to legacy plans only, after their monthly credits, and is not the current price. An annual commitment takes 40% off, and there is a 7-day free trial.
Side by side at 1,000 and 10,000 contacts a month
First the terms, as each company publishes them; then what those terms come to for one month at two volumes. A PropStream contact and a BatchLeads lead are different units, and neither is exactly a record in your file, so the cost table reads one contact or one lead per record traced.

At 1,000 contacts a month, PropStream Essentials with per-contact tracing comes to $219.00 and BatchLeads Growth to $119.00. One Skipmatch list of that size is $30.00. On these published terms, none of the other rows with a full figure comes to less than Skipmatch at this volume.

On these published terms, BatchLeads comes to less than Skipmatch at this volume. PropStream Essentials with Connect (from $129.00) and PropStream Pro (from $199.00) also start below that, though the terms we recorded do not say whether they cover 10,000 contacts.
A plan's included leads or contacts only help in months you use them. Its fee recurs whether or not you trace, while a per-record order has no fee in a month you send no list.
A third option for buyers who only need contacts

Both BatchLeads and PropStream bundle contacts with tools Skipmatch does not have. Skipmatch does not build lists, search properties, look up single owners, or scrub numbers against do-not-call or litigator lists. If you find your leads inside either platform and use those tools every week, tracing there is simpler, and at 10,000 contacts a month BatchLeads comes to less than Skipmatch on the published terms above. At that volume PropStream Essentials with Connect (from $129.00) and PropStream Pro (from $199.00) start below Skipmatch as well, before whatever the plan charges for contacts it does not cover.
Skipmatch fits when you already have the list, from a county export, a list broker or an export from either platform, and want it traced without a monthly plan:
- What you get: the file back with your columns unchanged, up to 10 phones per owner, each labelled mobile, landline or VoIP, and emails where they exist.
- Price: $0.03 a record at any list size. The whole list is priced at that one rate, and the total is shown before you pay.
- Billed: per matched record, per order; no subscription; card or prepaid credit payment.
- Limits: 50 to 100,000 records per list. Minimum charge $0.50 when any record matches.

How we checked
Each company's terms were read from its own pages on the date shown next to them (2026-09-25 for both) and are quoted as of Sept 2026. PropStream's rule is quoted from both of its pages because they word it differently. BatchLeads' legacy price is quoted from its help center with the article's own date and is not treated as a current price. The cost table multiplies each published unit price by the volume; where the terms do not say how many contacts a plan covers, it shows only the plan's starting price.
