Skipmatch vs Bulk Skip Trace: credits per match vs per record
Bulk Skip Trace sells credits at $0.14 to $0.08 each and spends one only when a record matches; Skipmatch charges $0.03 a record, paid per order by card or prepaid credit. Which costs less depends on how many of your records match. Prices as published in Sept 2026.

The short answer
Both are pay-as-you-go with no subscription, and they count different things. Bulk Skip Trace draws one credit from a prepaid balance for each record that matches; its credits never expire, and new customers get their first deposit matched in credits. Skipmatch quotes the whole list at one per-record price before you pay and takes payment by card for that order alone. Per unit, Skipmatch's price is below Bulk Skip Trace's at every list size, but Bulk Skip Trace bills only the records that match, so on a list where few match it can come to less.
| Service | Published price | Billed on | Subscription | Unmatched records | Minimum | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skipmatch | $0.03 (any list size) | Per matched record | No | Never charged: released from the checkout hold | 50 records | This site |
| Bulk Skip Trace | $0.14 (1-5,000), $0.12 (5,000-10,000), $0.10 (10,000-100,000) and $0.08 (100,000+) per credit, charged per match. Its pricing FAQ gives a whole order one rate by record count: orders of 1-4,999 records are $0.14 per match, 5,000-9,999 are $0.12, 10,000-100,000 are $0.10, and orders above 100,000 records are $0.08. New customers get their first deposit matched in credits. | Per match, from a credit balance | No | "Do I pay for records that don't match? No." Unmatched records: refunded as credits; "we do not offer refunds once a transaction is completed" (cash) | None stated ("no monthly minimum"; "Start with any amount") |
What Bulk Skip Trace publishes
As published on bulkskiptrace.com/pricing (opens in a new tab) and bulkskiptrace.com (opens in a new tab), checked :
| Records per order | Price per match |
|---|---|
| 1–4,999 | $0.14 |
| 5,000–9,999 | $0.12 |
| 10,000–100,000 | $0.10 |
| above 100,000 | $0.08 |
- Per match, from credits. "One search is one credit", and a credit is spent only when the record matches, from a balance bought ahead. There is no subscription and, in its words, "no monthly minimum"; you can "Start with any amount". The price per match is set by the size of the order, as in the table above.
- Credits never expire. bulkskiptrace.com/pricing says "Credits never expire" and that "you can buy at a higher volume tier to lock in a lower per-record rate and spend the credits over as many campaigns as you like".
- First-deposit match. "New customers get their first deposit matched in credits." bulkskiptrace.com adds: "Offer only valid on initial wallet charge".
- Unmatched records. The pricing page answers "Do I pay for records that don't match?" with "No." and adds: "When you upload a bulk file we estimate the cost against the full record count, and after processing we automatically refund the credits for any records that did not match."
- No cash refunds. bulkskiptrace.com says "we do not offer refunds once a transaction is completed".
- Search types. Bulk property search by parcel number (APN) or street address; bulk business search; phone append returns line type (mobile or landline).
- History. "All search history will be retained for the life of a customer."
What Skipmatch publishes
One price per matched record: $0.03 a record at any list size. Every record in the order is priced at that one rate. The quote is shown before you pay, and, if you pay by card, a hold for that amount is placed on your card at checkout; it is the most the list can cost. Minimum charge $0.50 when any record matches.
- No subscription or monthly minimum; prepaid credit is optional. Each order is 50 to 100,000 rows.
- You upload a CSV with an owner name and an address (street, city, state and ZIP) on each row, and point your own column names at the right fields during upload. How it works.
- The result has up to 10 phone numbers per owner, ranked, each labelled mobile, landline or VoIP, plus emails where they exist, with every column you uploaded kept. See a sample result.
Cost at 500, 5,000, 25,000 and 100,000 records
Skipmatch's figure is the most the list can cost: the amount held on your card at checkout. Bulk Skip Trace's figure is the price for an order of that size times the records that match, so the table shows its cost if every record matched and the match count at or below which it comes to less than Skipmatch.
| Records | Skipmatch, at most | Bulk Skip Trace per match | Bulk Skip Trace if every record matches | Bulk Skip Trace costs less at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $15.00 ($0.03) | $0.14 | $70.00 | 107 or fewer matches |
| 5,000 | $150.00 ($0.03) | $0.12 | $600.00 | 1,249 or fewer matches |
| 25,000 | $750.00 ($0.03) | $0.10 | $2,500.00 | 7,499 or fewer matches |
| 100,000 | $3,000.00 ($0.03) | $0.10 | $10,000.00 | 29,999 or fewer matches |
Credits vs paying per order
With Bulk Skip Trace you deposit money first and it becomes credits. Credits for records that match are spent; credits for records that do not match go back to your balance, which never expires. The trade is that the balance is money already spent, so what you deposit is for searches, not for withdrawal (see its refund terms above). A new customer's first deposit is matched in credits, once, which makes the first purchase go further.
With Skipmatch prepaid credit is optional. Each list is priced on its own, you see the total before you pay, and the charge is tied to that order. When you pay by card, nothing is left sitting in an account between lists, and there is nothing to top up before the next one.
| Skipmatch | Bulk Skip Trace | |
|---|---|---|
| Billed on | Each record in the list (per matched record) | Per match, from a credit balance |
| How you pay | Card or prepaid credit, per order, after seeing the quote | Deposit into a credit balance |
| Balance | Optional prepaid credit | Credits that never expire |
| Unmatched records | Included in the quote | Credits go back to the balance |
| First purchase | Same price as any order | First deposit matched in credits |
| Order size | 50 to 100,000 rows | No minimum stated |
When Bulk Skip Trace is the better fit
- Lists where few records match. It bills only matches today, so the fewer that match, the further its cost falls below the every-record figure in the table. Skipmatch prices every record in the list.
- Your first purchase as a new customer. The first-deposit match stretches that deposit in credits.
- Many small lists over time. Credits bought in one large block keep that block's lower rate and never expire, so later small lists can be traced at it.
- Searching by parcel number, or tracing businesses. It publishes bulk property search by APN or street address and bulk business search. Skipmatch traces from an owner name and an address; an APN column is carried through to your result but is not what it searches on.
- Keeping every search in your account. It says search history is retained for the life of a customer.
- Lists under 50 records, or above 100,000 in one go. Skipmatch takes 50 to 100,000 rows per order; Bulk Skip Trace states no minimum.
Skipmatch is built for a different preference: one number for the whole list before you pay, no required balance to hold, and a result with up to 10 phones per owner, each labelled mobile, landline or VoIP.
Not the same as BatchSkipTracing
Bulk Skip Trace (bulkskiptrace.com) is a separate service from BatchSkipTracing, which is now BatchData: batchskiptracing.com redirects to batchdata.io (batchdata.io/pricing (opens in a new tab), checked ). BatchSkipTracing alternatives.
How we checked
Bulk Skip Trace's prices and terms were read from its own pricing page and homepage on 2026-09-25 and are quoted as of Sept 2026. It lists $0.14 down to $0.08 per match; its price table prints credit ranges that share their edges, so the price for each list size on this page follows the order ranges in its pricing FAQ. Skipmatch's figures come from the same price ladder checkout uses. Skipmatch is one of the services compared. This page says nothing about either company's data quality or match rates.
